The evolution from the IT Practices Capability Framework to the HPO IT Practices Capability Framework is supported by the interviews with the executives. They agreed, as did the literature, that IT has tremendous impact on the operational, business process and managerial layers of the framework. IT enables better decision making, faster action, better tracking of processes, and improved insight into costs, shorter delivery times and higher customer satisfaction. While the literature did not reveal much insight about the contribution of IT to the innovation layer, many interviewees reported positive results in using IT for innovating products and services.
