According to ABC News, the New Skies check-in system responsible for this week's dramas is again experiencing problems.

A Virgin Blue spokesperson said there was a slowdown of its technology, leading to some delays.

"We're working through the system at the moment to just get it to be as robust as possible and to make sure that something like this doesn't continue to happen. So we're working through that," she told Macquarie Radio Network.

Virgin Blue issued a statement saying reservation and check-in systems were working.

No flights were cancelled as a result of the slowdown.

The airline reverted to to its manual check-in procedures for passengers this morning, with normal service restored a little over an hour later.

It was revealed yesterday that the airline is considering legal action against New Skies provider, Navitaire.

Accenture — Navitaire's parent company — told ZDNet Australia yesterday that it was not prepared to comment on the service level agreements it had with Virgin Blue.
