The NSW Government's newly integrated transport authority, Transport for NSW, has signed UXC on to provide it with managed network services in a deal worth $12 million over three years.

The contract covers the management of the authority's network, help desk, WAN/LAN/WLAN, network business continuity, contracts, finances and disaster recovery.

UXC has been the managed network-services provider for the Roads and Traffic Authority (now the Roads and Maritime Services), which is now part of Transport for NSW, since 1997.

This hasn't been UXC's only recent victory — the company also highlighted wins with Graincorp for project management and finance system help; with Toyota for an SAP upgrade; and with Hills Industries, for the build of a global Oracle JD Edwards template and implementation of Fusion Middleware.

Together with the Transport for NSW deal, the contracts are worth $34 million, UXC managing director Chris Nicolli said.

The company decided to go back to its roots as a pure IT company in 2010, divesting itself of assets in 2011 for a sale price of $61 million. It spent $550,000 on consulting and $750 million on infrastructure to enable the transformation.

"[These contracts] are an important milestone in our progress in being recognised for the enterprise capability UXC has built, and for the depth and expertise that our teams can deliver," Nicolli said in a statement.
