Tanner sets Govt 2.0 response date

The Government 2.0 Taskforce was announced by Finance Minister Lindsay Tanner on 22 June last year. It was to table a report on how government information could become more accessible and usable; how the government could make use of the views, resources and knowledge of the public; and how to promote collaboration across agencies. After the report was tabled in December, the taskforce was to disband.
On 22 December, the taskforce tabled its report to government, listing 13 recommendations. When the report was released, the government said it would "consider the recommendations" in an official statement from the Finance minister's office. The minister is yet to respond to the report and had not set a deadline until contacted today.
"The government is currently considering the report and intends to release its response in the first half of this year," the Finance minister's office said in an emailed statement to ZDNet.com.au today.
