Microsoft has decided that Windows 7 won't include built-in programs for e-mail, photo editing, and movie making, as was done with Windows Vista.
The judge presiding over Microsoft's antitrust case said Tuesday that the company must release details on how different parts of Windows work together, according to a Dow Jones Newswires report.
Microsoft likes digital photography enthusiasts as customers, and plans to release a free new utility designed to keep them wedded to Windows.
If it is up to Microsoft, the omnipresent JPEG image format will be replaced by Windows Media Photo.
Microsoft Corp. is planning a simpler Windows for the new Millennium. The company on Friday announced beta 1 of 'Millennium', the code-name for next year's successor to Windows 98 Second Edition. It has since, however, pulled the press release announcing the release from its site.
