He also discusses Travelocity's green strategy -- a program that allows users to purchase "carbon offsets" when booking travel.

Dell's president, Asia Pacific South, Paul-Henri Ferrand says the company's direct model is working well, but customers have forced it to explore channels to meet demand. While it has developed channels in Asia, Australia will have to wait Dell's not rushing into channels for the sake of it.

Although Dell has been praised for its efforts to reduce greenhouse emissions and PC waste, its claim that it is the "greenest IT company in the world" has been criticised for overstating the truth.
