Telstra will sack 279 employees at the end of October as it ceases publishing a print version of the Trading Post, with the iconic classifieds brand to go completely online.
Google and Telstra subsidiary Sensis has signed a deal to integrate the data from its Yellow Pages business listings into Google Maps Australia.
Sensis announced today that its classifieds publication, Trading Post, has launched an online auction service for Australian users. And, unlike eBay's PayPal mandate, the service will offer a number of payment methods.
Sensis has settled with the Australian Consumer and Competition Commission (ACCC) regarding a number of alleged breaches of the Trade Practices Act, committed online by its classified advertising publication The Trading Post.
The Federal Court has set a hearing date for the ACCC's allegations against Google of misleading and deceptive conduct, while the Trading Post is hoping to settle with the regulator.
Telstra-owned Sensis Classifieds, owner of the Trading Post, this week sent a threatening letter to rival OZtion over its use of the word "free to list" on its website.
Australia's ongoing PayPal saga has taken another turn today with the news that an anonymous submission sent to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) opposing eBay's exclusive deal with the payment provider was authored by Google.
