Shadow Communications Minister Nick Minchin today said that he was not surprised with the lack of progress shown thus far in the roll-out of the first leg of the National Broadband Network in Tasmania.
Tasmanians have complained they're being left in the dark over the state's leg of the National Broadband Network (NBN), despite the Federal and Tasmanian Governments insisting construction could start within weeks.
Tasmania's ICT industry is being held back by poor infrastructure, ineffective government support and market size, according to a report into the sector released by the state's treasurer yesterday.
Next month the Senate Select Committee on the NBN will table its final report. It will reflect the views of 100 or so submitted documents and a series of public hearings.
