After days of negative publicity and criticism, the 'Make love not spam' application is no longer available. Lycos says it's just been too popular, and promises it will be back.
Lycos may accidentally have launched a denial-of-service attack against its own anti-spam campaign Web site, "Make Love Not Spam".
Internet portal Lycos has denied its 'make love not spam' Web site was hacked into and defaced last night.
Spammers are suspected of hacking into and downing Lycos's anti-spam Web site just hours after it went live. The Web site is currently inaccessible and could also be the victim of a DDoS attack.
