Asia-Pacific telco PacNet (formerly Pacific Internet) today confirmed it would shift some local call centre operations to Malaysia, in a move that will affect the jobs of 22 Australian staff.
In five years every organisation in the world will be running some of their telecommunications on an IP-based network, and under-developed nations are showing the rest of the world how to do it, according to Asia Netcom's president and chief operating officer, Bill Barney.
While some participants say they use trading portals for cost-saving or increased efficiency, hotel giants Hyatt and Marriott are up-front -- they're in it for the money.
