Oracle unveiled its Applications Unlimited program on Tuesday, removing a 2013 deadline for halting development of new releases of its PeopleSoft, JD Edwards and Siebel Systems software.
Some PeopleSoft shareholders want to put a halt to the enterprise software maker's customer refund program to create more favorable conditions for rival Oracle if that company's hostile takeover bid proves successful.
Oracle extended the deadline for tendering shares in its hostile takeover bid for PeopleSoft, the company announced Thursday.
PeopleSoft will continue a controversial money-back guarantee program through March 31, or until Oracle drops its US$7.3 billion bid for the company.
