Antivirus specialist Symantec has joined a security organisation alongside Microsoft, despite having previously come to very public blows with the software giant over its willingness to share security information on Vista.
Microsoft is investigating a security vulnerability which affects Vista, its newly launched operating system.
The animated cursor vulnerability in Windows could also affect those using Firefox on Windows machines, according to one of the security researchers who discovered the flaw.
Security vendors are claiming Microsoft was deliberately withholding access to its Vista spyware product, but the software giant denied the charge.
Microsoft claims that businesses planning to use Vista together with its Bitlocker hard drive encryption technology will have an easy and safe way to dispose of their hard disks.
