The Oracle manager who oversaw the integration of the Asia-Pacific operations of acquisition targets Siebel and PeopleSoft into the software heavyweight has been promoted.
Oracle continued its bullish optimism for its Linux strategy at its OpenWorld customer event in Melbourne today, revealing that 90 per cent of new Australasian customers had deployed its database on the operating system over the last 12 months.
Business-to-business e-commerce will grow in 2001 with the Asian Pacific region ghosting America closely. Oracle is confident about the sector and the region, with hopes that its new suite of products will benefit from local growth.
