The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) and the Department of Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts (DEWHA) have both recently signed on new vendors to take over their formerly Commander-led managed services contracts.
The jobs of around 100 staff from Darwin-based ASX-listed IT services firm CSG hang in the balance as the company looks to shed headcount after losing several contracts it had acquired from Commander.
Western Australian ASX-listed IT services firm ASG today confirmed it had won the Federal Government Civil Aviation Safety Authority's managed services deal over incumbent Darwin-based supplier CSG.
The Group 8 cluster of federal agencies that signed a collective IT outsourcing arrangement with Commander-owned Volante in 2000 are moving on as the contract nears its end on 26 June.
The sale of Commander's telecommunications business could be wrapped up within the next couple of weeks, according to the failed company's receivers.
