  • Lenovo ThinkPad X200 Tablet

    Although it lacks an optical drive and a touchpad, and battery life could be better, this is a typically well-built ThinkPad. If you're a Tablet PC fan, it's a very good (if somewhat pricey) choice.

  • BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220

    The first BlackBerry clamshell looks great and does the basics well, though its lack of 3G data speeds is disappointing.

  • Dell Vostro 1310

    Dell's small-business-focused Vostro 1310 has a temptingly affordable entry-level price, but a realistic specification soon brings it into line with the competition.

  • Dell Latitude XT

    This is a handsome and very usable Tablet PC, thanks to its excellent screen and keyboard. Battery life and performance are both a little disappointing, though, and the price becomes steep as you add in the options.

  • Telstra F852

    The F852 may not be the best Next G phone available, but it looks good and the price is right.
