Australia Post has joined forces with Web portal ninemsn to form Australia’s largest bill-payment network.
It's all texting, e-mailing and accessing the Internet this Valentines' Day, with vendors claiming a huge surge in traffic on the biggest day of the year for romantics. However, Australia Post reckons going virtual with your message of love is "taking the easy way out" and your best bet is the old-fashioned card or letter.
Australian purveyors of online bill delivery systems believe recent bioterrorism events have not created demand for their services, despite a 20 percent increase in the number of Americans viewing and paying bills electronically in order to avoid the postal system, which is suspected of being a prime anthrax target.
