South Australian Internet Service Provider Adam Internet has announced that it would invest AU$9.6 million into a private next generation broadband network in Australia, independent of Telstra's exchanges.
Optus this morning announced a AU$150 million rollout of its own broadband Internet digital subscriber line (DSL) equipment to hundreds of exchanges around Australia.
Within two months, Internode will tackle customers who have previously sat in ADSL black spots, by offering its new naked service up to seven kilometres from its own exchange network.
update The construction of Internet service provider TPG Internet's ADSL2+ broadband network is behind schedule, the company revealed today.
The cancellation of Telstra's proposed fibre to the node broadband network has hit Alcatel's bottom-line, with several billion dollars being cut out of a deal between the two announced last November.
