The head of the nation's competition regulator yesterday scolded Telstra for promoting its views through the media rather than talking to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) directly.
Telstra boss Sol Trujillo is expected to conduct a number of briefings over the next two weeks in the lead-up to a keynote speech at the National Press Club.
The heated debate over who will build a countrywide fibre-to-the-node broadband network has been raging for some 18 months, with Telstra battling the ACCC, the government and the rival Optus-led G9 consortium. There are few signs the battle will end soon, but here is what has happened so far.
