    Despite a torrent of interest in enterprise databases running on Linux, IT plans for rapid deployments amount to little more than a trickle. As IBM, Oracle and Sybase prepare to ship new versions of their high-end databases for Linux this quarter, interest in the upstart operating system as a database platform remains moderate.
