There have been two breakthroughs for US consumers taking legal action against Nokia over allegations it had been selling faulty mobile handsets, with a NSW government investigation of similar claims in Australia continuing to influence the cases.
Nokia USA wants files on the NSW Department of Fair Trading investigation of Nokia Australia over its 8210 series mobile phones kept out of a class action law suit against the company, currently in its preliminary phase in a California court.
A US judge will soon decide whether a California court will hear allegations that Nokia knowingly sold mobile phones with defective displays.
