Telstra has revealed that for the first time, there are more subscribers to its third generation Next G network than its 2G CDMA counterparts, with over one million users adopting 3G technology.
Telstra last night claimed officially the Swen virus/worm was largely responsible for the surge in e-mail traffic on its BigPond network, "consistent with the experience of other major Internet Service Providers".
Telstra has conceded it may be several weeks before BigPond e-mail service levels return to normal.
