There is now little over a week to go until the new .com.au, .net.au, .org.au and .id.au registry goes live. But are preparations complete this time?
The combined number of .com.au and .net.au domain names has reached the 500,000 mark, two and a half years after .au Domain Administration (auDa) took over management of the .au domain space.
The number of Australian domain names has increased by 24 percent, according to the au Domain Administrator.
Go live date for the new.com.au, .net.au, .asn.au, .org.au and id.au registry has been pushed back, a move touted as being to give registrars more time to prepare for the changeover.
auDA's suspension of reseller Internet Name Group as a provisionally-accredited registrar remains in place, even as the registry for .com.au, .net.au, .org.au and .id.au prepares to go live.
