When the SAP-based payroll system was introduced earlier this year, it affected tens of thousands of staff, many of whom were not paid. Following these issues, KPMG was asked to review the system's implementation. The first KPMG report released yesterday did not detail specific concerns with the system, but it did outline some of the steps that had been carried out in order to solve them.

Some 171 dual screens have been deployed to payroll staff, according to KPMG, which said giving staff two screens will "allow more efficient access to the systems" and will reduce the need for staff to switch between applications.

According to the report, remaining staff without dual screens may be offered a larger single screen in the future.

The report also said that state-owned system support agency CorpTech had partnered with IBM and Infor to successfully improve the speed and capacity issues staff had reported with the system.

A more detailed review is expected from KPMG in the next few months.
