TrendMicor technical support i ...Linda Powell -- 26/10/08

TrendMicor technical support is one of the worst and if you ever need a refund because their product is not of expected standard, faulty, or just the wrong one, then you won't get it. Their support staff send mediocre emails just to dodge meeting your request and typically asking for 'more information'. A

    The good: Reasonably good protection

The bad: Shocking technical support, manipulative management, mediocre customer records' maintenance

the product worked for a little while, and then i started getting a lot of spyware/malware. i actully got norton antivirus to take care of the problem. i would not recommend this product to anyone. i have called and emailed the techs at trend micro many times, and they do not give any help on how to get the updates.

    The good: none

The bad: -will not uninstall remove from my computer -does not do its job -tech support is not helpfull at all -stopped updating after owning for a year and license is still good -DOES NOT protect computer -more cons but i dont feel like spending my time with the program any more

TrendProtect a part of Trend M ...Richard Haran -- 19/01/09

TrendProtect a part of Trend Micro software which according to them is not compatible with Trend Micro Internet Security Pro 2009. They don't tell you this when you update, so when you do, Pro 2009 does not work. Tech support totally useless, I decided to delete all instances of Trendprotect in the registry which seemed to work---now their toolbar works properly. The program also stated I had hundreds of the "Troj_Generic.DIT virus in a program that I've used for years that is recommended by Microsoft to use as an alternate sreensaver (G-Force Platinum). I've only owned this new version of Trend Micro Int. Sec. 2009 for 5 days now and already has failed to update three times. They recommend I go to safe mode to figure out how to fix this issue. They don't tell you what to do, so I guess I'm on my own!!

The good: I've had issues with the 2008 version, and I said I'd go back to Norton's, but at the last minute I said I'd take another shot at this program. Boy! was I a Jerk!! Before the month's out I'll probably get rid of this program.

The bad: Zero tech support. When you chat them, they ask you what the issue is even after you type the message to them. The program is not worth the money. Too many unsolveable issues, at least nothing that's done quickly. Go with Norton or Mcaffe

Thought I would try using it with one of my clients. What a mistake. 2 weeks of phone calls with no answers, no resolution. Service is horrible, agents don't seem to care.

The good: If there is one I don't know what it would be. Maybe it cost less?

The bad: Better hope you get what you need right up front and don't need support. If they will give refunds, I may never know if the application actually functions. Wish I would have stayed with what I had.

Technical support for this pro ...Mel Match -- 07/02/09

Technical support for this product is a big scam - best chance at contacting one is via email, and then they will answer so vague that you are left on your own to solve problem. Have three year plan for over a year now, and have not received an update ever, just warnings that my system is out of date. Refund is not possible it appears---- why refund when they are scam artists.

The good: It can be uninstalled and take your losses - never to deal with them again

The bad: I hate being taken by Fraud Artists such as Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security

This is a virus in itself. Keep well away.

their "tech support" ...johanna mills -- 25/04/09

their "tech support" is a giant firewall -- absolutely nothing gets through. expect no help from them whatsoever.

The bad: non existent customer service/tech support

Forget about support. I installed Trend Micro on three computers running Window XP Pro. Each time I try to do a full scan I get a "Run Time Error" on all three computers. This has been going on since December and zero help from Trend Micro. I switch to NOD 32 on one of the computer and have had no problems plus NOD 32 is less of a pull on the system.

    The good: None

The bad: Very poor support. They will send you an email telling you they will call you at a certain time and never do.

Continued to get viruses, etc. ...Jim McClintock -- 14/06/09

Continued to get viruses, etc. I had the Dell special version of pc-cillin. It started to not allow me to sign on to my MSN Premium. After hours of working with various tech support, I removed Trend Micro, loaded McAfee and all is well. I'll never use their product again

    The good: None

The bad: Poor to no support. Not "compatible" with things like Ad-Aware or SpyBot. Now not compatible with MSN Premium.

This is the worst software on ...Julie Lopez -- 03/08/09

This is the worst software on the market ever. It is virtually impossible to uninstall and remove from your computer. I tried many times to get some help from their support department and it was so disappointing. I am not surprised that others on this forum feel the same way. My friend gave this link to finally get rid of this thing of a software. Now I have Norton installed and I am very happy with everything. Here's the link to get rid of this menace off your computers%u2026Grrrrrr! http://www.squidoo.com/uninstalltrendmicro

    The good: None

The bad: Will NOT UNINSTALL period!!! Non existent technical support

Trend Micro is the best. aussies_son -- 18/09/09

I have been using Trend Micro since 2006 and I think that is is very good. It never fails. I am using the latest Trend Micro on my computer and found no problems. A friend of mine does BETA testing for them and gets lots of support, so I don't know why you people think it is bad.

Seems to work for me Anonymous -- 19/10/09

I've been using Trend Micro for three years and it has protected my PCs. The only problem I've had was being talked into purchasing the software on a USB this year when the local computer store was out of stock of updates. I was suspicious of the USB version as my partner had trouble installing it on his laptop and required extensive tech assistance (which he received) but the sales person said that problem had been rectified. Unfortunately it just wouldn't install completely. I returned the USB and received an update on a disc. Tech support gave me immediate assistance to remove the partially installed USB version and now all is humming along.

Trend Micro stinks Anonymous -- 20/10/09

I bought Trend Micro. My email went crazy. I sought all kinds of help.
Finally pay $$ to geek who comes in and says tho i have been running Trend Micro, there are now 13 viruses on my system and in addition, Trend Micro has corrupted my email. I actually paid money for this anti virus system. Sheesh.

Trend - had for four years - very happy Anonymous -- 14/11/09

I have used Trend Micro PC-cillin for 4 years and just updated for another 2 years. Using on 1 desktop and 1 laptop. Never had an issue, while all my friends/family I know using free products, constantly have pc virus problems.

    I am very Happy
