We put Norton and McAfee's latest Internet security suites head to head. The concept of suites of software designed to protect you against all the various nasty things that can happen to your PC while online is a relatively new one, but it's taken very little time for the two heavyweights in consumer antivirus protection, Network Associates and Symantec, to get on board with annually renewing security packages.
As a consumer, however, picking which package will best protect you can be tricky. We've put this year's iterations of McAfee Internet Security and Norton Internet Security head to head to sort out the winners from the also-rans.

McAfee Internet Security 6.0
McAfee Internet Security 6.0 is fine, but Norton Internet Security 2004 is a better deal, thanks to superior spam filtering.

Norton Internet Security 2004
An excellent all-in-one PC defence: Norton Internet Security 2004 is the best all-in-one security suite, thanks to its fine spam filter.

For my money neither of these two packages would work. Trend Labs PC-Cillin has a better catch rate
for all web born nasties. RMIT labs testing proves this.
When coupled with Zone alarm 4.5 Pro you have excellent security that you dont have to be an Einestein to configure.
