Norton 2005 vs. McAfee 2005

Norton 2005 vs. McAfee 2005 Are you safer today with Norton or with McAfee?

Which has better support policies? If the nation is divided 50-50 in terms of the federal election, so too are our opinions about Norton AntiVirus 2005 and McAfee VirusScan 9.0. Each costs about the same, and each produced some system performance drag in CNET's tests. While Norton offers better worm protection, McAfee will better protect your PC from spyware. We'd love to declare a clear winner this year, but we can't, so stay tuned for a complete roundup of five new antivirus apps in early November.

Review summary VirusScan 9.0 is a worthwhile upgrade for current VirusScan users, who will benefit from the improved spyware detection. But VirusScan lacks a firewall, making it an incomplete security solution. Norton AntiVirus 2005 is a tenacious virus fighter that, given its premium price, should also -- but doesn't -- include a firewall. It's a good bet for Norton users who want to upgrade, though.

  4. That was a comparison? Unheard Opinion -- 04/01/06

god, that has got to be the least informative comparison I have ever read. I hope your paying your writers good money to go the extra mile. I can see they took as much time as needed to make sure they reviewed each software product thoroughly. I just wanted to take some time out of my day to show my appreciation for doing so. I for sure wouldn't want you to say one product might be better than the other without having full knowledge of each products capability, inside and out. Its good we have you guys to help us choose the best anti-virus program.

I know, I know. You gotta keep the companies buying ads.

Okay, so... what... is that all? I hope you guys go deeper into reviewing other software than just looking at the outside of the box!

Just plain and simply worthless. Could have learned more by reading the back of the packages.

  8. Norton Is the best afs_1432k@netzero.com -- 07/04/06

Ppl who have given their opinion here, dont know much about computer and how Norton works with it, i will explain you exactly what Norton does, the files of Norton are really strong however when you play around with Norton files, it conflicts with the thirdparty software files installed in the PC, also the scanner that Norton has is so powerful that it detects all the Tojan horses, worms etc, at the same time when you compare with Mcafee, it will not detect such type of worms, trojans, etc. It will only detect the spywares and adwares, which is a feature available with the Norton Internet Security too. If the ppl dont like Norton what bothers me, but I will go for the Best Antivirus and firewall like Norton!!!!!!!!

Accordiing to me Norton is the Best of all the other Antivirus software available in the world.

    Thanks,
    Aidan Ally
