This is one area where you're probably going to have to shell out. You can certainly do the basics of tracking a single account using a spreadsheet. But if you want to track multiple bank accounts, download and reconcile statements electronically and even -- if you're a small business -- handle GST and tax, you're going to have to shell out. On the plus side, you may (depending on your circumstances) be able to claim the cost of the software against your ongoing taxes.
