I installed SP1 the day it came out, vista is deffinalty snappier than before. but one big surprise was when i played Crysis, and was getting roughly an extra 10fps in DX10 mode, havent tested DX9 yet. one bug i found though is when coming out of sleep my keyboard sometimes becomes stuck on a key and i need to reboot

Not recomended unless there's something in it that you specifically want/need.

Vista Ultimate running on a Dell Vostro 1500 connecting to a wireless home network with a linux box acting as an internet gateway/router. (Vista could never place the Fileserver on the graphical network map)

The good: 1. Large 100GB local network file transfers from XP system seem faster and/or don't fail (still testing).

The bad: 1. Wireless network is constantly being re-identified. 2. XP Computer can no longer see Vista computer in network nieghbor since SP1 update (can still connect typing "\\name\public", etc.).

Forgot to try gaming performance (given previous post), so upped my scored - this will be a killer reason to upgrade for many gamers.

    The good: 2. Crysis DX10 (with Nvidia 169.44) 6 fps increase (21 - 27 fps GPU benchmark)

    The bad: see previous post.

Seems that the SP1 update broke some of my firewall settings :-(

Resetting the Vista firewall fixed the Wireless network constantly being re-identified and the vostro's disappearence from the XP network neighbor.

The good: 1. Big 100GB network transfers speeded up (to XP speeds). 2. Crysis DX10 6 fps increase (to 27 fps).

The bad: Install broke some firewall settings.

The good: none that i can see.
