If you're finding it increasingly difficult to keep your work PC, home PC, and Palm device synchronised with your most current information, then fusionOne's Internet-based synchronisation service may be right for you.
FusionOne takes the concept of syncing your handheld and your PC one step further, allowing you to synchronise your work PC and home PC, as well as your laptop and mobile phone. You'll even have an eDock, 25MB of server disk space to keep your data synchronised via the Web.

Registration is free, as is the fusionOne software. The software installation is automated, but you have to repeat the setup for each device you want to sync. Currently, fusionOne supports PCs running Windows, Palm OS handhelds, and WAP-enabled cell phones. Support is in the works for the Mac OS, two-way pagers, Pocket PCs, and Psion (EPOC) handhelds.

Outlook users will be able to keep the latest version of their calendar, notes, email, and contacts synchronised between devices. You can also sync your browser's bookmarks, and even files or entire directories -- which makes the 25MB of server space seem a bit too small.
If you're out with your handheld, you can synchronise it with your other devices from a cradle connected to any fusionOne-enabled PC. Bear in mind, however, that the fusionOne software will replace the software you currently use to sync up your device.
FusionOne's software and the eDock interface aren't as intuitive as we'd hoped. If you're not careful, you can make serious mistakes that will affect all the data on every device you use. Backup or version control would be a nice addition.
Once you get comfortable with the interface, though, fusionOne is an easy solution to the problematic task of managing and updating the same information spread across a range of devices.
