GoLive CS Adobe's professional Web-authoring tool includes updates that make it more competitive with the latest version of Macromedia's Dreamweaver; improved integration with other Adobe products also seems designed to win over current Dreamweaver users.

Like Dreamweaver MX 2004, GoLive CS provides a totally revamped interface for working with Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). Plus, it looks as though Adobe has made the program much more code- and coder-friendly, right down to a knock-off of Dreamweaver's Round Trip HTML, amusingly dubbed '360Code'.

Although GoLive lets you set parameters for Flash objects, that may not be enough for Flash-intensive Web site designers.

This version of GoLive may finally put user loyalty to the test. Will the lure of its Acrobat and Photoshop integration and inclusion in a suite take mind- and market-share from the Dreamweaver/Fireworks/Flash combo? We can't wait until this AU$959 application ships at the end of this year to see how it compares.
