New notebooks, mapping software and data warehousing software can't compete with wine software in our book. Check out all of this week's Australian product announcements.

Toshiba has brought a couple of notebooks to market this week. Firstly, the high-end Satellite 5200, powered by a 2.2GHz Intel Pentium 4-m processor and housing a DVD burner. The 5200 comes with 512 MB of RAM, a 60GB hard drive, 15" display and nVidia GeForce4 graphics chip, and a not-entirely-wallet friendly RRP of AU$6499. Aimed at the multimedia market and the high tech toy lover, it also boasts Wi-Fi and BlueTooth capabilities.

Next is the Portege 2010, consisting of a 866MHz Pentium III ULV, 40GB HDD, WiFi, SD. It'll set you back around AU$4290. Weighing 1.2 kg and boasting 6.5 hours battery life, Toshiba pitches the Portege at "road warrior" users, because we all know terms like "road warrior" never go out of style.

Meanwhile, the Satellite 1110 has been launched as a desktpop replacement for small business or first time buyers. Costing AU$2475, it has a 1.6GHz Mobile Celeron processor with 128MB memory, a DVD-ROM drive, 20GB hard drive and a 14-inch display.

For the wine enthusiasts, Melbourne-based company Uncork has released Vintage Cellar 2003. Features of the wine management software include easy organisation of cellars, extensive wine information including over 46,000 individual vintages of wines from America, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and England, and over 10,000 winery names and addresses. The Uncorked Cellar can be downloaded free for a trial period. The registered version costs AU$89. If you just need the 2003 update, that'll set you back AU$29.

Intergraph's mapping and geospatial division IntelliWhere announced LocationServer 5.0, a server-side software development platform which enables field crews or dispatch staff to request mapping and asset data and have it delivered to handheld devices. Features include an XML-based spatial query engine, integration with existing applications, automation of OnDemand data and acceptance of data from GPS.
