Whether it's power-based networking, tape drives or the world's most expensive system fan, we've got all your needs covered with this week's new Australian product releases.

HP released two new all-in-one printers aimed at SOHO users this week which combine colour printing, photocopying, scanning and faxing. Replacing the Officejet g85 is the new Officejet 6110, capable of printing 19ppm in black or 15ppm in colour. The 6110 boasts photo-quality printing at up to 4,800 x 1,200 dpi (when using HP's photo paper) and is priced at AU$699. The Officejet 5110 replaces the Officejet k80 and offers print speeds of up to 12ppm in black and 10ppm in colour. The HP Officejet 5110 sells for AU$449.

StorageTek announced the availability of HP's new LTO Ultrium Generation 2 tape drives for StorageTek L180 and L700 tape libraries. The LTO-2 drives boast 400GB compressed cartridge capacity and transfer speeds up to 70MB/sec and are priced at $AU28,600.

Apple announced two new iMac models this week. The 17-inch wide screen (1440x900) model features a 1GHz PowerPC G4 processor, 256MB of DDR memory, an 80GB hard disk, an nVidia GeForce4 MX graphics chip, a DVD/CD burner and support for AirPort Extreme and Bluetooth for AU$3,795. The 15-inch flat panel iMac, for a RRP of AU$2,695 includes a 800 MHz PowerPC G4 processor, a 60GB hard drive, a 32x Combo DVD-ROM/CD-RW optical drive, nVidia GeForce2 MX graphics chip and Apple Pro Speakers.

Kyocera Mita released the Ecosys Laser FS-6020 printer for a RRP of AU$1999. Printing speeds are up to 20ppm for A4 and 11ppm for A3 with a resolution of 1200dpi. The printer supports USB 2.0, bi-directional parallel port connectivity and network printing. At the higher end of the scale is the new KM-4030 digital copier with fax, scan, copy and print capabilities. It features copy speeds of up to 40ppm, first copy out time of 3.9 seconds and the ability to deliver received faxes to a designated PC. It sells for AU$9999.

Vcomm released a home/office networking solution which connects PCs through existing electrical cabling. The Data Power Link starts at AU$220.

APC announced the availability of a new compact air distribution system to increase airflow inside racks. The NetworkAIR RM Distribution unit features dual blower fans, A-B power input feeds, air filtration and adjustable depth. It sells for a RRP of AU$2,051. That makes it, by our reckoning, the world's most expensive CPU fan.

Hitachi Data Systems released a high-end storage series, the Hitachi Freedom Storage Lightning 9900 V Series. With 146GB drives the capacity of the 9900 V series is up to 148TB in a RAID-5 configuration. Connections are claimed to be 2Gb/s over 64 fibre channels that can support 4,096 different servers.
