There's a lot here this week for the enterprise purchaser, and a few for the wealthy home purchaser as well. Never fear though, Dell has come through with another low-cost PC.

Sometime in late August the XM2 digital video camera from Canon is hitting dealers throughout Australia. It features a 20x zoom lens and achieves approximately 540 lines of horizontal resolution. It also allows users to set frequently used features as -custom keys" and sports a host of other features designed to improve picture quality. The press release cited an RRP of AU$5,999, but the Web site quotes AU$6,299.

For business users, Canon has released the Visualiser RE-450X projection camera. The quality of projection has been increased from XGA to SVGA, according to Canon, and allows the presentation of 3-D images. It can be hooked up to a multi-media LCD projector, and boasts a 12x zoom lens. The RRP is AU$4,950.

Dell has targeted the budget buyer with the Dimension 2300, which includes a 1.8 GHz P4 processor, 128MB SDRAM, a 20GB hard drive, a CD-ROM and a 15" monitor for AU$1,498, including delivery.

Toshiba has released the TLP-MT4 home-cinema projector range which are in-store now for AU$5,299. The machine delivers images with a diagonal image display of 2.5 metres, at a throw distance of only 2 metres, according to Toshiba. It weighs in at 3.2 kgs, and connects to DVD, video recorder, cable TV, PC's or games consoles.

MYOB has released Customer Payment Services, designed to automate the processing of bill payments. It also allows businesses to offer their customers more payment options, including BPAY, credit card and Postbillpay.

Sydney based Project Perfect has released Version 3.1 of Project Administrator, which is designed to link with Microsoft Project and add enable risks, issues, expenditure and all the other non schedule items to be integrated into one package. The software is available for AU$500, and a 30-day free trial is available from the Web page.

Nokia Internet Communications has released a couple of single rack network security appliances, and claims they have improved VPN, firewall, intrusion protection and ease of serviceability. The IP350 delivers 3DES VPN-1 throughput of 60 Mbps, while the IP380 reaches 90 Mbps out of the box. Who knew they built more than mobile phones?

Dell has released a new mid-range NAS server, the PowerVault 775N. It offers duel Intel Xeon processors, two Gigabit Ethernet NICs and scalability to 8.3 terabytes. It goes for AUS$12,364, but we're not sure whether there's a AU$99 delivery charge on that.

Resilience has released a new VPN/firewall appliance, the DX4000. It boasts 1.5 Gbps of secure firewall throughput, for AU$39,990.
