Quantum disk backup in store By Luke Anderson, ZDNet Australia February 16, 2007 URL: http://www.zdnet.com.au/reviews/hardware/storage/soa/Quantum-disk-backup-in-store/0,139023427,339273653,00.htm
Storage maker Quantum has unveiled two disk-based backup appliances designed as tape replacements for Australian mid-sized office and datacentre use.
With the DXi3500 offering eight hard drives and the larger 5500 up to 24, storage ranges from 250GB to 10TB. Quantum is claiming a fast data-transfer rate of between 120GB (DXi3500) and 800GB (DXi5500) per hour. The DXi3500 and DXi5500 -- which replace the existing DX3500 and DX5500 models -- will be available locally by April, in a range of configurations with a starting price of AU$31,000. Data capacity ranges from 1.2TB to 10.8TB. Colin Barker from ZDNet UK contributed to this article.
