The bad: %u2022Quality does no ...Mel Sommersberg -- 10/12/08

    The bad:
    %u2022Quality does not come cheap
%u2022Current Intel processors would likely give better performance

First point is obvious, the second is a matter of opinion. AMD produces fine processors that are more than a match for those made by Intel. Why else would HP release this fine specimen? They lead the world in server production and the DL585 is one of many reasons why.

The good:
  • Excellent redundancy for reliability
  • Very good management options
  • Easy installation and maintenance
  • Good warranty/support service
The bad:
  • Quality does not come cheap
  • Current Intel processors would likely give better performance
The bottomline:

A powerful server with a strong emphasis on reliability and serviceability to reduce overall device cost.
