It's not enough for printers to simply print any more; the best models scan, fax and copy, although they still won't wake you in the morning with a cup of coffee. Check out these all-in-one wonders.

HP OfficeJet 6110
Although light on fax tasks, the HP OfficeJet 6110 is still a versatile multifunction printer.
Canon imageCLASS MP730
The good performance, quiet operation, and a solid software package makes the MP730 an ideal choice for SOHO users.
HP PSC1210
Some all in one printer, scanner and copier units are defined by their nifty add-ons, or groovy style choices The PSC1210 is just small. No, strike that, it's very small.
Epson Stylus CX5100
The CX5100 easily fulfills the definition of an all-in-one printer, scanner and copier, with a performance that challenges that of standalone printers in terms of print quality and speed.
Lexmark X5150 All-In-One
The performance, image quality, and ease of use of this all-in-one make it a good fit for SOHO users who can live without fax capabilities.

i am on the hunt for an mfp. ...Anonymous -- 06/03/04

i am on the hunt for an mfp. i prioritise my requirements as follows:
colour print/scan quality, standalone fax/copy (sans pc), decibel levels, ppm, interface/software, b&w print/scan quality, footprint, aesthetics.

in other words, please offer product specs in as deep-a detail a poss.

i'd like to see test images in all categories in reports so that i can employ my own judgement on quality.

i'd like to see comparative charts or tables containing user-specified productmodels with specs listed according to site-designated criteria, comparing apples with apples.

i'd like there to be a comparative pricing service like that at bizrate.com.

it would be a good idea to include on each product review a tick-list of all features offered by the complete range of mfps, for example,
    own modem y/n
    card reader y/n
letter size or above flatbed size y/n
    borderless printing y/n
    paper feeder y/n
    etc

thankyou for providing the best info i have yet found on the net in aus
