I ditched my HP printer, thinking that the Dell-Name Brand would live up to the Dell quality that I was familiar with.
The good: Looks nice, but it is cheap, cheap, cheap.
The bad: Faded prints, terrible color. I thought that I would be saving money on ink because the ink was cheaper by the cartridge. I have had the printer exactly one month do little printing and am out of ink. Looking into Staples for ink replacement cartridges, I discovered that the cartridges are good for a little over 100 copies.
The 926 was a warranty replacement for a 924 and neither came close to living up to expectations - or even working as they should.
The good: It's pretty.
The bad: Latest problem: the printer can communicate with the computer but the "All-In-OneCenter" on the computer cannot communicate with the printer. This is after replacing the prior machine because it would not accept any -ANY- print cartridges - even when ordered from Dell. They make good computers but this will be my last Dell printer.
I want to purchase black ink for dell 926, i want to know that may i use any other ink for the same printer
I am more than happy with my printer! Clear and sharp black prints. Colour photo prints were just as good as photo shop processing prints. Very suprised and all for $69 what more do you want !!!!
I've had nothing but trouble with this printer. I don't need a high quality printer, but to continually have to order ink from Dell week after week and get it delivered at a ridiculous cost is so annoying.
The good: Cheap to buy. Prints ok for non-quality or simple printouts.
The bad: The cost of replacement cartridges, and the time they last is just terrible. I have also had to re-install the printer software/driver about 5 times as it continually locks up.
My problem is with getting replacement ink cartridges. They dont last long and are very expensive to buy. You cant go and buy them at a shop - not even at a Dell stand in the mall. They have to be delivered (which you pay for) by a courier company so you have to be home to sign for them. You cant just ring up and order and pay for them - you get asked 100 questions about your use of your computer eg what do you use it for, how often and who are you -owner or someone else, etc. When I asked why all the personal questions I was told that in these days of terrorism these answers are needed! So it's just too hard and too expensive to get a simple thing like a cartridge, and they only last a very short itme and they cost a heap compared to others. Can anyone tell me if there is a compatible ribbon of some other brand I can get.
The good: Looks quite nice but no better than others
The bad: Buying those printer cartridges!

This is one of the worst printers I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Not only is the print quality bad, but the firmware doesnt display all of the menu options that are mentioned in the manual. After some three hours of trying, it failed to recognise the bluetooth adapter that was supplied by Dell with the printer. To date, it still doesnt print via bluetooth.
The good: Looks nice, but you get over that after the first few moments
The bad: Almost everything about it. I usually like Dell products, but this printer has really let the side down.
