Kensington Mouse-In-A-Box Optical

RRP: AU$49.95 Kensington Mouse-In-A-Box Optical

The Good: Unlike the other Kensington mice in our roundup, the MIAB Optical has a pleasant shape and decent scroll wheel. It's driverless unless you choose to download Kensington's MouseWorks software, and comes with a quite good manual explaining proper ergonomic mousing technique.

The Bad: At twice the price of its ValuMouse brand, we can't help but feel that the Mouse-In-A-Box Optical should offer more than just optical technology.

The Verdict: It's AU$10 more than the similar budget Belkin Optical mouse, and only AU$10 cheaper than the Microsoft Optical Wheel Mouse, which makes the Mouse-In-A-Box Optical something of a problem middle child. Just to be picky, we can't help but also notice that it's only in the box for as long as you're not actually using it, at which point it just becomes a mouse.
