Being a Nokia user for sometim ...Karl Cotter -- 27/07/08

Being a Nokia user for sometime I thought I would give the Blackberry curve a go. Well, about a day after getting it, I wish I could have turned back time and never bought it. I previously had a Nokia 8280 which had it all.
I have however, have persisted with it, mainly because I have to and I must say that, my concerns have wayned a little and I am getting used to it. I love the bright screen and things are relativley easy to see and use. One thing that I do like about it is it's loud speaker, I'm not much into Bluetooth, so the ability to whack on the loadspeaker in the car is great, even with the top down I can hear every word.
If I had my time over, I probably would have stayed with Nokia and would have bought a N95, but for the time being I'm happy with the choice.

The good: Nice to hold, has a great bright screen and even though the keyboard is mini, it's surprisingly easy to type!!

The bad: The processor's a tad slower than I expected and I miss not having an FM radio and video capabilities.

I just upgraded to my BB 8310 ...Robert Cloke -- 09/09/08

I just upgraded to my BB 8310 and so far so good. Minus one MAJOR draw back. My Motorola Razor V3 enabled me to lock out my media files, all my media files. The BB doesn't have this capability. Why? With the BB it's all or nothing.

The bad: I want to beable to lockout, password protect, ALL access to my SD Card.

The good:
  • Inbuilt GPS
  • Full QWERTY form-factor
  • Large and bright screen
The bad:
  • No Wi-Fi or 3G
  • Short battery life
  • Sluggish processor
The bottomline:

With the addition of GPS the BlackBerry Curve 8310 is an incremental upgrade, although we're still waiting for 3G connectivity.
