A great mini note pc at just over a kilogram and very slim. About the size of a few stacked mouspads. Very easy to pack and carry. Add a netbook Bluetooth mouse for perfection.

The good: Keyboard is as good as it can be at 92% full size. Screen is very clear and precise. More so than other netbooks I've seen. 3 to 4 hours battery life is good. Batteries are affordable, and of a small and lighweight flat design that is easy to pack.

The bad: The VGA out adapter cable seems impossible to obtain. HP servic sales are stumped. Dick Smith's too.

I have now owned my HP Mini for about a month, Its quick, wireless connects very fast. i get Downloads of up to 250kbps

The good: small, fast processing, good screen size

The bad: keyboard is awkwardly small, itd be great if i was 10. my USB Ports have no failed intermittently i plan to bring it back for a replacement tomorrow, the Bluetooth is darn near impossible to get working properly

The good:
  • Best netbook keyboard we've seen
  • Thinner and lighter than HP's previous netbook
  • Ditches slow VIA processor for faster Intel Atom
The bad:
  • Limited expansion options
  • Overly glossy screen
  • Needless proprietary external drive connection
The bottomline:

HP may have arrived late to the consumer netbook game, but by lifting the generous keyboard from last year's business-oriented model, the Mini 1000 easily joins the category's top tier.

8/10
