    We bought two, and both have failed. One kept crashing unexplainedly, while the other has had two new motherboards and sundry other parts yet still has graphics 'seizures' that make it unusable. The NVidia graphics may be the culprit. Dell's support and service have been extremely frustrating - it's been almost a month now since we reported the problem, and still no resolution. 'Next day'? No way!

    The good: Looks good on paper. Works very well when it works at all. Not noisy.

    The bad: Unreliable hardware, poor support and service. Heavy. No way to screw in the external VGA connector, so the connection may come loose and cause flickering.

    Abysmal has 1 rating... I'd go for 0 given a chance. As someone has said just beforee.. DELL service and support seriously SUCK...

    The good: Nothing more than a usual laptop.

    The bad: Really bad hardware.. they've replaced my mother board and battery but still it keeps shutting down. And they say it's a problem with OS. CRAPPP!!!!!! Serious crapp...

    There is no support, i am stuck buying this laptop. My USB port frequently gets disconnected with my usb device, windows unexpectedly crashes

    The good: None so far. I could have bought another good laptop at an equal price with better looks.

    The bad: The keyboard is so compact that one cannot write properly. hardware is unreliable. dell support every time telling me to install drivers and blame it on the OS. the support is non-existent. For my loose usb ports they say, i will have to pay as this is a wear&tear cost, but how can i do so much wear and tear with a laptop of just 2 months!

    hey every one i was at the shops today and saw this fone and its not to pricy.i just droped my htc kasier and smashed the screen.my phone is like my life it has everything on it.i was wondering if this device is used for texting and calls? and i havnt been able to find much info on it and does it have a keybord or is it all touch screen?i like the looks of it and want to get a phone as soon as i can thanx heaps

    i am usinf nokia e71 but i sold and pick up this i mate 8502 and me life become so diffcult its not user friendly i am trying to sell but no one want to buy it i loose a great amount on it i thing i am big jurk that i switch to imate pyer for me

    Just over a year of moderate use, and naturally past the warranty date, the hard disk died.

    I have always been a Toshiba fan, but when I decided to buy the Dell, I thought I'd get a fairly good laptop at a few hundred dollars less than the Toshiba. Well, I was wrong.

    As of the day that hard disk died, I am back to be a loyal Toshiba follower. It just works. I have a four year old Toshiba laptop still working as a server at home, and a six year old Toshiba is used as backup for any emergencies - visitors needing to do emails.

    Buy a Dell? No. Never again.

    We used to buy Toshiba laptops until just over a year ago - we've had 12 fail in 11 months! - some more than once - they are rubbish and we will never touch them again.
    We switched to Dell Vostro 1510 & have only had 1 major problem from 8 we bought - a motherboard fault & on the 2nd occurance the Dell tech was onsite the next day to fix it. Only other issue is battery life for one user - should have specified a 9 cell battery rather than the hopeless 4 cell that comes with it

    I've owned the 1510 for a year and so far the CD/DVD needed to be replaced and now I have a faulty motherboard. The online support is terrible as well. I should have spent an extra $200 to get an Apple.
