HP's Envy Spectre 14 is gorgeous. It's also quite pricey, but in that you get one of the best keyboards, a good touch pad, great battery life and, well, a Windows machine that looks like a MacBook Pro. If you've got the cash, then this one comes recommended.

It's easy to be charmed by the design, audio and features of the Envy 15. Sadly, its selling feature, the optional high-resolution display, has the glaring fault of displaying red as orange.

Panasonic continues its successful rugged Toughbook range with the semi-rugged CF-53. Great battery life and good performance means this laptop won't slow you down, and the mixture of old and legacy ports means it should be ready for all sorts of harsh business environments.

The ThinkVision is an acceptable accessory if you need extra screen real estate on the go. Just don't expect flawless imagery.

Although the Series 7 is set up to be a premium laptop, the sketchy touch pad and choice of AMD graphics holds it back from being truly great. Still, excellent battery life, the matte screen and backlit keyboard may be enough to sell you.

Vexatious touch pad and limp speakers aside, the 8951G is rather good. As long as you stay away from Acer's Clear.fi software, you'll likely get some enjoyment out of this laptop.
