Tech Guide: Pocket PC 2003

Hold onto your handhelds--Pocket PC 2003 is here. Get the lowdown on its improvements and how to upgrade your existing PDA.

Microsoft has released Pocket PC 2003, its new OS for Pocket PCs. While it's not a major overhaul of the operating system, especially from an interface perspective, it includes some significant changes that Microsoft has implemented to improve the overall user experience.

The changes fall into three areas: wireless connectivity, messaging, and embedded applications or bundled software. Not only will we give you the scoop on all the changes and enhancements, we'll provide the skinny on their upgrade options for Pocket PC 2002 users and show everyone some brand-new Pocket PC devices.

And in case you didn't hear already, the Pocket PC 2003 software bundle includes ActiveSync 3.7, but it's been available for a while to current Pocket PC owners. This latest version delivers improved USB support and support for wireless syncing via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, as well as auto-detection and configuration of serial or infrared ports.

    ok... i have tried every-where ...Anonymous -- 12/02/04

ok... i have tried every-where to obtain the Pocket PC 2003 upgrades for my iPaq H5450. But when i rang HP, they told me it's not available until the 16th of FEB 2004.

If it is not available, how come the HP Retail shops are advertising it on the web??? (i saw few ads on the net few weeks ago)
