Nokia 8210

Currently one of the more popular Nokia phone models around, the 8210 weighs a mere 79 grams with the internal battery. Despite its small size, the 8210 comes with all the advanced features typical of a Nokia mobile phone.

For example, using the integrated voice dialing function, 8210 users can make phone calls simply by pressing a button and saying the name of the person he or she wishes to call. The T9 predictive text input function helps complete commonly used words and speeds up typing of SMS messages. SMS users will also appreciate the Chinese character inputs and picture messaging capabilities of the 8210.

With a talk time of slightly more than three hours and standby time of up to 150 hours (based on the supplied lithium ion battery), the Nokia 8210 comes with a built-in modem for easy connection to Palm or laptops via an infrared port. Its other notable features include vibration alert, a 500-entry phonebook, four games, calendar reminder, clock alarm and currency converter cum calculator.

Looking for personalisation options? The Nokia 8210 lets you change the look of your phone with interchangeable Xpress-on front covers. You can also create different caller group and profiles for your callers. The most interesting function though is the Smart Messaging feature that lets you download additional ringtones, logos and graphics. Most people find this extremely useful since they can choose from a wide variety of ringtones and logos available on the Internet to differentiate their phone from others.

One of the plus points of the 8210 is that it is small and light, allowing it to be carried around convenient. In fact, most people find it so mobile that they are even hanging the phone round their neck. However, its small buttons make it difficult for people with big fingers to use the phone. In addition, even though the Nokia phone is equipped with EFR support for a clearer reception, the microphone does not produce a good reception for the other party.

Basically, Nokia has done a good job in squeezing so many useful functions into the 8210. If you have a passion for small phones with full features, this may be the one for you.
