First Take: Siemens SL65

First Take: Siemens SL65 The SL65 is a slider phone that's clearly an upgrade of the popular SL55. We take a quick look at it.

Aimed at trendsetters and early adopters, the elegantly styled SL65 picks up where the SL55 left off, with its compact slider design and improved features. The most notable enhancement to the phone is the integration of an onboard digital camera which can be used to snap images up to 640 x 480-pixel resolution as well as take short 11-second video clips.

According to Siemens, the 10.3MB of onboard memory can store up to 100 video clips and more than 200 VGA snapshots. We didn't find any integrated flash unit, a feature found increasingly implemented in today's mobile phones. However, Siemens revealed that a flash attachment will be bundled as a standard accessory for those aiming to shoot in low-light conditions.

Available in Ebony Black and Ivory White, the Siemens handset offers an extensive range of support for existing mobile phone technologies including GPRS, triband, Java and MMS as well as a handsfree function. But like the SL55, Bluetooth is once again omitted from its feature lineup.

you should be able to use it, if you get an unlocked phone, which is a phone that is not locked to the european networks. some of the features may not work also becasue it was not originally supposed to be realeased in american till later. I will be purchasing this phone online as soon as it comes out.

This phone is useless. I have had different mobiles now for over 5 years and never have I had such unreliability. The makor problem with mine is it keeps turning itself off, at least 5 times a day, which is very annoying as people are constantly complaining. The other problem is that it sometimes crashes during applications.

If you are looking for a slide phone, look no further than the black samsung business slide phone. Much better features and no doubt reliability too after owning two samsungs previously.
