Made for Spying

If you still harbour childhood fantasies about secret surveillance and James Bond-type spying, you'll love Swann Communication's tiny new SpyCam camera.

Obvious uses of the SpyCam include catching candid video of friends and family--but there are also more serious uses for this tiny camera. Mounted on the ceiling over a cash register, the SpyCam could help a small business keep an eye on employees. The camera could also be used for home security purposes--mounted over a door, the SpyCam lets occupants see who is outside--even before the doorbell is rung.

The SpyCam has a wide-angle lens, but a twist of the lens engages a Macro-mode for extreme close-ups. The camera can be viewed by connecting its AV ports to a monitor, TV, PC (with a TV/capture card), or a VCR (for recording straight to video tape). It is priced at $159.
