NSW Transport Minister David Campbell has confirmed reports that RailCorp has stood aside its chief information officer Vicki Coleman following a claim of dishonest behaviour.

"I am aware that an allegation of dishonest or corrupt behaviour has been made and I endorse the fact that RailCorp has stood this person aside while the investigation is carried out," Campbell said in a statement to ZDNet.com.au in response to a direct question about Coleman's status.

When ringing Coleman's office, ZDNet.com.au was told that Coleman was "not available". The Daily Telegraph initially reported the move to stand her down temporarily.

A RailCorp spokesperson was unable to answer any questions about the investigation, but only provided a statement in response to queries on Coleman.

"An allegation of dishonest or corrupt behaviour made against a senior RailCorp manager has been referred to ICAC [Independent Commission Against Corruption]," the statement said. "RailCorp takes such allegations very seriously and the matter is being investigated.

"While it is not appropriate to comment further on this matter, RailCorp's policy is to take swift action in relation to any allegation of dishonest or corrupt conduct reported within the organisation."

Coleman has worked at RailCorp as group general manager ICT since 2004 before which she held a position as Sydney Water's CIO. She has also worked at Qantas and Westpac.
