Yahoo unveils Messenger for Vista

Yahoo is building a new version of its Messenger communications service specifically for the Windows Vista operating system.

Yahoo expects to launch a public beta of Yahoo Messenger for Vista during the second quarter of 2007. It offers the ability to resize the contacts window and to start a chat without opening a chat window, easy access to a colour wheel to change the background colour, and the ability to make photos full-screen size when sharing them.

Users can also combine multiple chat sessions into one window with multiple tabs and can drag and drop a contact onto the desktop for separate viewing.

Another new feature is the automatic creation of contact groups based on Yahoo network affinity groups of which users may be members.

Yahoo Messenger for Vista also leverages the desktop search in Vista to let the user search for photos stored on the computer, and it includes new animated emoticons.

well since using yahoo messenger from 1998 I have only witnessed the technology get better and the human content discintegrate. Hopefully yahoo addresses the need to monitor its services more closley while its all good to be technological advanced the human factor should come first and first thing should be protection . how many people have boot codes for yahoo chat???1000's and how many paedophiles use yahoo,,1000's something needs to be done about these problems before we step into an age were neglect for the human being is considered ok in the wake of progressing technology..

Yahoo is jerking your chain, they promise action and then go south with the birds. I will believe it when I see it and can download a finished product that is what they promise.
I think microsoft is slow to deliver, yahoo is just "NO SHOW ALL TALK".

it is actually more limiting than the previous versions, and I don't understand how they figure making a newer version of a program that nolonger works will improve things.......help us figure out how to get rid of the bots, make our own chatrooms and be able to use voice in the rooms before you worry about the rest............anyone else agree?
