TAFE Tasmania buys reporting software

Tasmania's state Technical and Further Education (TAFE) organisation has puchased a corporate reporting platform from business intelligence vendor Cognos.

The one-off deal awarded in late August and disclosed through the state's tendering system is worth AU$379,000.

Tender documents said TAFE Tasmania required the supply and implementation of a "contemporary reporting platform" to integrate with both existing and future corporate applications.

"The reporting platform will support both a centralised corporate reporting function as well as allow individual users to generate and schedule their own customised reports as and when required," tender documents said.

TAFE Tasmania provided educational services to more than 29,000 people last year, according to the group's Web site. The group claims to be the largest registered training organisation in the state.

ZDNet Australia is seeking further information from TAFE Tasmania as to the nature of the corporate reporting implementation.
