Quark Australia gets new chief

Global publishing software giant Quark has appointed a new executive to lead its Australia and New Zealand operations after its previous country manager left for Epson.

A spokesperson for the company this morning said that previous Australian country manager Joe Bizinger had recently left the firm; Bizinger's LinkedIn profile shows he has been working as a business systems manager for Epson Australia since July.

In his place, Quark has appointed former CA executive Alex Nemeth to the role of regional business director, a position which will essentially have the same responsibilities as Bizinger's spot, but which will also see Nemeth oversee Quark's New Zealand operations.

At CA, Nemeth led the group's NSW identity and access management sales business. Prior to that role he spent four years as the Victorian state manager of British Telco BT.

A Quark statement said the firm had recently launched two new products in the local market; QuarkXPress 8, the newest version of the company's flagship desktop publishing software, and the Quark Dynamic Publishing solution, an enterprise software offering that helps to automate publishing across different channels.
